A brief look for what we’ve done
In order to maximize the interaction between the music, the performer and the listener, we built a package of modules that provide us a unique environment to create and perform.
The complete system for managing our live music performances was presented in NIME14 (PDF) in Goldsmiths, University of London, and had a big role in our performance.
We utilized Max/MSP framework to create a reliable and low cost approach for automatic managing virtual instruments/effects/gestures, and synchronization of the band on stage. With this approach, the players can also apply innovative music interfaces in an easy and a professional way.
Moreover, we took the advantage of using virtual instruments to manage the mix and routing the audio, providing metronome and monitors system to the players’ ears as well as virtual live mixing. This privilege eliminates the dependence on the venue’s equipment, and in that way, the sound quality and musical ideas can be brought directly from the studio to the stage.
