Seven Seas — Physics in Max/MSP
Hi all! We are happy to share another piece we’ve made. In this one, the idea was to create a boat floating on water while the music affects the waves.
We try to put minimalism in the context of visual and sound, where only two rigid bodies exist and interact; the empty boat and the so-called “sea”. The sea is made of two sine waves, extracted from live playing, minimal piano. One spotlight translates the sound of the keyboard and mouse which are the sounds we usually hear when everyone is quiet.
Achieving that required diving into Max’s physics abilities. We found some interesting stuff about it and we will share it all soon in a tutorial.
